Well said. What we need are people who have experienced religion, not just the ones who practice religion, or who are seen practicing religion. I believe that religion serves to bring out the goodness in all of us. And when the opposite happens, we are merely exhibiting our humanly weaknesses – selfishness, possessiveness, greed, envy, anger, cruelty, self-righteousness, pride, arrogance, violence, etc.

I find you concerns extremely cogent. India more than ever is mired in the realities of the caste system, and regional chauvinism. What political steps do you think everyday Indians can make to remedy these obstacles to higher level of civil society?

HI abbas…sorry for replying so l8.
the problem of india cannot be resolved by a mere process or a referendum but instead, and that is why it’s hard, it has to involve removal of the state of mind that wishes to ignore the state that his/her country is in
Thanx
